broken branch!

well a few weeks ago i FIMed one of my plants and it grew out two huge top cola branches... today i went to check it and somehow one of these big top branches broke almost completely off! it was just dangling and starting to turn brown so i pulled it off completely. besides the fact that this was a big branch and it makes me sad to lose it, will losing such a big branch stress the plant out too much? im only a week or two before flowering starts... no camera sorry

anyone... someone told me the hole where it broke can make it easier for the plant to get a disease or something is there anything i could do for that if i have to? i dont have many plants and this one was one of the better ones =\

still awesome but it looked way better with twin tops reaching up lol now its just one top like i never even clipped it.

really hoping this wont cause it to hermie or something its a female i presexed..

I am sorry this happened to you. I am new at growing so I'm not sure how much I can help but I had a similar problem. I have been flowering for about four weeks and a large branch broke off with no hope of repair. I am thinking that because of the loss of that branch the plant will focus its energy on the remaining buds and I will have more or less about the same yield. I wouldnt be so quick

Now I wouldnt be so quick to assume that it will turn into a hermie, so don't have a heart attack like I did! Lol, honestly the only thing I can think of doing is to watch your plant very closely and make sure that if male parts do happen to appear you are quick to cut them off so your crop will not be ruined. I know that many people say toss your plant if it becomes a hermie, but since I am very attached to my plants I want to try to everything I can to keep them sinsemilla.

Also its a weed, so remember its a tough little plant =) I hope this helps-or at least puts your mind at ease.

Where it broke you will possibly see swelling and dead plant material, but as long as the grow area is clean you shouldn't have much to worry about with the break causing further damage. If it does hermie, Dutch Master Reverse is designed to prevent pollination in female plants. Fairly inexpensive, especially if you don't want seeds. Best of luck.

ive had a big branch break 2/3 of the way and if your quick enough you can tie it back together with no ill effects!!

It wont make it hermie, do you still have the branch? you can cut it up and make it into a bunch of clones. Well, probally not anymore, but its worth a shot still. As for infection and all that, yes, it does make them a tad more vaulnerable, but also think about other plants in nature, they get damaged through lots of different events and survive perfectly fine. Why should your plant be any different?

I broke one of mine as well (Jacky White or Laughing Buddha not sure which). I was adding string and weights to tie it down and it snapped when I pinched the branch (with the weights already attached). I taped the branch back on and it has been a month and it is still adding bud and leaf material. Doesn't seem to have harmed it in anyway, I mean the leaves never even drooped.... My branch still had fibers holding it on, but the center was severed. I used some of the reflective shiny tape.

did you wrap gauze around it first? because once that branch heals you really should remove the tape. the stem around the break will get stronger than ever and bigger, but the break area constricted by the tape wont be able to properly get bigger so youll have a sort of bottleneck between that branch and the rest of the plant. If you didnt oh well, at least you learned something, not worth stressing over at this point. maybe if your careful you can remove the tape slowly and carefully with a razor blade, go slow and once more most important of all do it carefully.

It may even make the rest of the plant redistribute the nutrients that WERE going to the broke one and give you a bush. similiar to topping. IDK....I could be wrong but it makes sense.
