Brown,yellow,twisted, and curled leaves..Folded like taco..HELP!!

A friend of a friend of a friend of a ...Is having problems with his plants.Top flower leaves are yellow, brown, twisted and curled. They feel kinda crisp to the touch.. The light was moved further away and they are still getting worse.The fan leaves near the top folded in half like a taco and are a funky colors.Almost a gold color.The leaves are gold(yellow) and green striped. It also looks wilted.All the small leaves around all the flowers are droopy.The fan leaves are also droopy.The have plenty of water. I believe 1 has a drainage problem. Hasnt been watered in few days cause the pot is still kinda heavy.He is Using soil mix and a reg bloom booster.He hasnt had any problems with this set up before.They are in 5th week of flowering. Did they get fried from being to close to light? Whats the signs of root rot? 1/2 of his grow is like this. The other half looks great.Some of the leaf tips are yellow but thats all. Can anyone help my friend?...Please!

Hard to say. Part of it sounds like heat stress caused by the lights being too close, part of it sounds like a nutrient problem. Without knowing a lot more specifics about the grow (and without some pictures) it's really hard to even make a guess. At the very least we need to know the type of lights, distance of lights from plants, room temp, humidity, strain of plants, age of plants, whether there is a fan, etc.
