Hi everyone -
Recently (completely unplanned) tried my first attempt at cloning. Eh. Some branches got given to a friend from a great sour D mom. They had been sitting in a cup of water for two days, then my friend who had no idea how to clone, tried it, and mangled the fuck out of them. Afterwards he asked for help lol.
I did what I could, but this is 7 days later and I've pretty much lost hope for them.
Needless to say though, that was the kick in the ass I needed to start me out on my cloning journey and now I am determined to succeed on principle alone. Inspired by NoGutsGrower's DIY thread (https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/430426-my-20-dollar-less-cloner.html) I decided to try out a bubble cloner set up.
Got the tupperware at lowes, airpump & stones at petsmart, neoprene discs at a grow store. Filled with plain ph adjusted h2o. Covered outside of container with 2 layers of duct tape.
Took some cuttings last night from my friends garden that I'm helping him with. 45 degree angle, split the bottoms, removed leaves etc. Dipped in some rooting gel and then inserted into the discs. The water definitely bubbles all the way up to the top. When I open the lid there's droplets all over. I also have a small heating pad underneath the container to try and keep the water temps warm. Same exact container over top as humidity dome.
Let me know what you guys (and girls) think! If there's anything you see I could do better or anything I'm forgetting tell me! Oh - and do any of you experienced cloners think the original 9 clones in rockwool have any chance, or should I just toss them? Like I said, I am new to cloning but am now determined to succeed. All help is appreciated!
