Bubbleponics Question.

Hey,
I am very interested in growing.
And I had a couple questions about the SH Bubbleponics system.
The basic 6 planter starter kit is $89.95.

1. How much will I need to spend for a good, efficient system (including add-ons).
2. If you have a SH Bubbleponics system, how long does it normally take to complete from germination to curing? (Not rushing anything, and being patient)
3. How long does it take from germination to curing if you try to speed things up?

Thanks for any input you have. Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Yo im on my 49th day of growing for the 1st time. I went out and bought a garden of ease system for like 50 bucks. It holds 4 plants which im growing now. But if i were you go for a DIY(do it yourself) bubbleponics system. Cost you like 30 to 45 bucks to build and its easy stuff u can get at walmart. Im gonna possibly make one out of a 18 gallon tub when i switch to flowering stage. As for length from germ to curing it just depend on you, the average is 8 to 10 weeks. It breaks down to something like this, 1st week germinating, 3 or 4 weeks of veg (growing) and about 4 weeks of flowering (budding) then harvest and curing for another week or so depends on conditions. If anybody wants to critique that summary its cool, im just given quick overview on growing.I suggest you buy seeds that grow faster if thats really what you want, you can find some that take 7 to 9 weeks.

Yea, I want to make my own system.
But I'm really afraid of messing up.
I understand that every newbie grower has to mess up, but I'd rather find a reliable way to grow.
I am definitely down to make my own system, but when I grow for the first time, I just want good results.

My plan is to grow in my closet later on. Depending on my living arrangements later on, it will probably be a small walk-in closet (probably can't fit more than 2-3 people). Does anyone have specific information on building a small system for 4-6 plants for a personal closet? Also, specifically during the summer/fall climates of the midwest?

dude! i just bought that EXACT kit it was 147.59$. i am a complete noob but i JUST got it all set up. i really think its worth it. everyone here will tell you "make your own its cheaper" it might be true. but everyone that says that understands hydropnics and how it works.im a noob and i dont think i could have started without it. but you shood get there fire and forget addon nutes. thats another good thing bout it. NOW i must tell you that when i recived the kit the bucket had a hole in the bottom. i was PISSED i went and got a 10 gallon one from wal mart and putting holes in was a BITCH! just remember family size can bushes baked beans torched will cut holes perfect.WELL i think its a good purchase still and i wood recomend it for ANY noob. oh yea but i got my own lights. 400 watt hps lamp and ballast 156.67$ htg supply on e-bay.well happy growings.

Yeah I have to say make your own it's cheaper and you can customize it to what you want, check the diy threads I made my own and they are rockin, it was easy and it is my first hydro and it can't be simpler. Find the ask lucas thread that earl on this site refers people to, it will explain how to run your system so it is super easy. And the growth from these things when run correctly is phenomenal I will never do soil again. Good Luck

Hey bro, Please read this carefully before buying SH bubbleponics system.

After 2 weeks of research I chose bubbleponics from SH for my first grow. I bought the complete kit with the two 65 watt lights... The total with shipping was about $230.

There used to be a really helpful guy on here called Roseman who walked everyone thru the SH system and promoted it etc... turns out he was in cahoots with SH.

I would be well worth your time to check ebay as they have prebuilt systems identical to SH's for about $30. Also, The water pump that makes the Bubbleponics system 'unique' is useless.... Infact after the roots reach the solution they recommend you dont even use the pump more than 3 minutes per hour... So good luck finding a crazy ass timer for that loony schedule.

I recommend 1000bulbs.com for your lights. its cheap. Buy the smaller watt lights (30-42) and buy more of them so that you can have lights within an inch of the plant all the way around.
2700k is the light type for flowering
6400+k is the light type for veg

I made my own system that is identical to the SH system for $18.

Their system WILL work fairly well, however it is way too small for 6 plants. You will plant 4 at most and 3 would be better.

The nutrients they send are very low quality. Advanced Nutrients or Fox Farm are exponentially better.

The PH tester they send is for human urine and saliva and it is not accurate.

The lights they send are good, but you will need supplimental lighting anyway...

I wish I would have taken another week to do more research before i bought their system, but I was excited to start growing.

I really recommend Garden Knowm's book, which gives day by day directions for growing on a $50 budget, and it is awesome. Seemorebuds is the pen name he published it under and you can get it at most book stores and online. Check his sticky thread on the grow forums for more info.

Good luck. If you have any questions please let me know.

Just another opinion...If you are using CFLs I find with bubbleponics that 3 weeks is way too long for veggy period unless you want to prune before going to flower. It just gets waay to bushy for the CFLs to properly penetrate light into flowering.

HAHAHHAHA,,, man to think some of the things that come out of peoples...mout...fingers i guess...

so check this out....

yes there is alot of diferent ways to do hydro... but the bubbleponics set up is by far the easiest.... and the only reoson its the easiest is because you donot have to involve connectors and hosing for water and water pumps blah blah...

bubble ponics is very very easy,.....

basic design..... Bucket to hold water and your roots... a top that holds your baskets (cut out the holes.. )...get an air pump from the walmart fish department ... any of them work.... but i feel like the more air the better.... (think aeroponics..)

the air pump is set outside of the reservoir (laughing that i have to point that out)...hehhe... *hit*... ok ... So yeah the pump .. outside the bucket....air hosing connected to Air rocks (all available at walmart.) ....i would recomend geting creative withthe hosing design and ensure that there is an air rock under each of baskets....

onces you have all that your finised... you just plug in the air pump .. fill it up with water that has been treated with reverse osmosis... your nutes... and place your plants into the baskets... All done... the pump runs 24hrs.. why would you want to cut air to the roots//??? hell if you have the money put 10 pumps and make that 85% air.. ( ok ..hehehe..)

really guys... nobody should be spending 100 + dollars for the bubble system... the lights and all that..is a different story... hehehhe...check out my system... i kinda try and break it down ... people make it seem to hard.... happy growing..
