ok so once the roots reach the bubbling water is the feeder tube still needed or will taking it away slow down growth ?
What makes you think that the feeder tubes guarantee faster seedling growth? It will not slow down growth if you remove the feeder tubes and pump. I would ditch the water pump altogether and just get a better air pump, a large air pump will create so many bubbles that you won't need any water pump not even for when it is a seedling.yea i know seedlings grow faster with the feeder tube until the roots get closer to the water but removing the tube once the roots get to the water wont slow down growth will it
If both methods were done perfectly then, by definition, there would be no difference between the two. So clearly your experiment failed. The record is clear, dwc growers have been using bubbles for years, the pump and tubes are a johnny-come-lately approach to be marketed as "new and different" and sell kits.I have tried both with and without tubes and I have found that using the tubes and water pump in the begining until roots enter water is much quicker than without ,but once the roots enter the water out with the pump or If it is to intertwined with the roots just turn it off and leave it sit in the resivoir
also I have founed that if you put a larger valve between the pump and the manifold and leave the manifold valves wide open seams to have solved the clogging problem
Hope this helps
