TOpping them would hurt them and reduce yield.

Also if they are in week 5 since flip then they have a TON of time left to go. From looking at them I would guess they actually started flowering about 2.5-3 weeks ago, which means they have 6-10 weeks of flowering still to do. They are going to grow much fatter and fill in a lot more in that time. Just keep them healthy.

This topic comes up now and again. It's nonsense. Stoner science at it's finest. There's some guy with some crappy looking fried up plants that has a couple videos on youtube where he cuts the top off of all the flowers on his plants. Reminds me when people would say to yank the plant and boil the roots to force the resin to the buds.

To get the best flowers give your plant what it wants. Good environment, plenty of light, and proper feeding. That's how you get the most robust flowers.

Here's one. Go to minute 3:40 and look at his crappy plants. He obviously doesn't know what he's doing that's why he's chopping the tops off his buds. Where did you get the idea to do this anyway?

There is a method called "back building," where the tip of the bud's are clipped, allegedly resulting in fatter buds. Can't speak to its usefulness, and never tied it, but here you go:

edit: opps, @xtsho , I was seconds slower... :-)

I wouldn't take any grow advice from someone with plants as fried up as that guys. It's pretty funny though. Snip snip snip. He should learn how to grow healthy plants before making anymore youtube videos.

Your plant looks fine. Take care of it and you'll be happy at harvest time.

I topped a bud on week 2 or 3. Just started week 7 today. The one bud is ugly but not filled in yet. Just let it grow. Reason I did was the same; I thought it would make a fat bud

I have tried this many times with different strains , also researched this subject allot, and here are my findings:

some of the plants did respond well, and i had 4 small buds on top of the big bud that i pinched its top with my fingers.
other strains didn't respond well and the bud just stopped growing.
in all cases i think this technique works to make the bud grow horizontally but definitely not upwards, and you might end up with the same yield but different shape.

you can try on a bud or 2 just out of curiosity. :)

Love and peace.

Jumped on the grenade awhile back ..... snip 1/8” off .

It just stops the terminal top of bud and only “ shapes “ the bud ( barrel shape ) and does not add
any more weight just bag appeal.

I did it on some buds and some not .... really did not do much.
Kind of like giving a Pomeranian a “ lion haircut “ .... kind of stupid.
