Buds feel dry into week 7?

Hi , my buds in the last week feel a lot more dense but seem to have a dry feel to them . Is this normal for week 7?
This is my first time in soil and also first time with 1000w hps , normal setup is dwc with 600w hps.

They have just about reached the end of 7 weeks since flip. Around weeks 4-5 my temps shot up in the dark period to 40c! for a few hours on about 3 occassions. (my lights are on at night). They have since been moved into a tent and have lowered the light from 1000w hps to 600w to take care of the heat issues.
1 of the plants has been yellowing since week 5ish , im pretty certain its an N deficiency? They are in Sohum soil so i didnt think anything needed to be added and thought that it was maybe just normal yellowing at first.
Trich`s are clear to cloudy with a few ambers in there at the minute.

Since the move to the tent , my night and day temps have been anywhere between 23c and 27c (avg 25c) and the humidty has been low 30`s to mid 40`s with the exception of today where it has gone up to 50% but is steadily on its way back down again.
Plants are in a 1.2m tent , 8" extraction split to 2x6" ducts , one extracts via the cool tube and one extracts from the top of the tent. Intake is 5" fan sucking from a cool room. Cooltube sits about just over a foot away from the tops.
As they are in sohum i havent fed anything other than straight tap water ph to 6.5 until about a week ago where i added some calmag and a weak dose of veg nutes to try add some N back.
2 plants are in 25l pots and 2 are in 15l pots . Could the yellowing on the plant in the 15l pot be due to the sohum not having enough nutes for the plants size? Or any other suggestions. The leaves that are yellowing aren`t burning up at the edges or anything just yellowing off completely then shrivelling and drying up til they fall off.

Ive checked for bud rot and see no signs of rot or hermie but they just seem a lot drier than what ive dealt with before .......

Any advice appreciated :)

Water very thoroughly . Until you get runoff. Water pH is important. Bud tends to feel coarse and dry as it bulks for completion .

Thanks for the reply , Ive been water ing to run off and use the pot lift to determine when to water. Glad to hear that they feel dry and coarse towards completion , never really checked before. I've only been handling the buds this time around as my first initial thought was seeds because they feel real dense compared to other grows I've done of the same strain in dwc under 600w. Now I know it's perfectly normal I can just leave them to get about their business ;)

Thanks .

The leaves start to get coarse and leathery or tough at the end. Including the shorter sugar leaves in the bud.

I was planning to use Sohum for my next grow. If you check their website you'll see that that they recommend bottom watering. This will prolong the life of the soil and do a better job at keeping it alive for the duration of your grow. Top watering with run-off could explain your N deficiency. Also, using a larger pot with more soil should do better. 6-7 gallons minimum. Next time you could try using a SIP set up (large bucket or deep saucer filled with perlite then sit a fabric pot on top). The water wicks through the perlite and up into the soil.
