building a basic clone box

I'm looking for good material to read up on for cloning. I have a used cake tin, like one for a big party. It has a good solid base, and a plastic top which could be used to create a humidity dome for rooting.

Would it be enough to put the cuttings in organic soil or even rockwool cubes or starter cubes and mist them a few times a day with a cfl over the top, and vent it out every few hours?

Its no bubble cloner, but I don't see why this wouldn't work. Any insight is appreciated

Yes, the cake holder would probably do fine if it's like the ones I get. Another cheap and easy (and more permanent) clone box is a $3 disposable Styrofoam cooler. Put plastic wrap over the top, poke some holes and put a small tube fluoro over it.

I went to walmart and bought a small fish aquarium. Its maybe a foot tall and about 8x8 around the perimeter. Its all clear and has a clear lid with a vent hole already in it. I cut my clones, dip them in hormone, put em in the rapid rooter (if I have them, they're the best... I love them) or the rockwool if I'm out of rapid rooter plugs which had been soaking in my solution. Then I place those in a small plastic holder that some pansies or something came in... pour in my solution so the bottom of the plugs are submerged. Works like a champ!

My solution if interested is, mostly water with about a tiny squirt of liquid seaweed and a tiny squirt of Vitablue which is the Blue Planet Nutrients version of AN's B-52. Its a B-vitamin that helps establish root growth. I also use this solution to mist the clones maybe 2wice a day for the first week, then I back off. I want the plants to have to search for water by growing roots... not become dependent on foliar feeding.
