Hey everybody I'm new to this forum stuff but got a few years off experience researching growing
currently I'm on my second grow my 1st was a 2x2 CFL home Depot diy grow box spent $150 and got 1.5 ounces from soil grow from a regular bag seed
. My new t5/t8 Op Will be much larger I have 2 rooms available a 6x8 veg room which Im currently splitting up to flower in until my 15x9 flower room is complete. I currently have a 40 plants in veg 8 regular bag seeds and around 32 high grade seeds from Bubba kush to different well known strains. In my new Op the veg room has one T5 eight bulb 6400k 54w highoutput 430 watt 40k lumens on a 24 hr light cycle but recently switched to 18/6. The flowering section has two old T12 fixtures converted and rewired into two overdriven t8 four 32w bulb each fixture kicking out supposedly 280 watts output per fixture of 3000k spectrum. In my veg room my system is a non recirculating hydroponic float raft system with air stones in three 9 gallon concrete mixing rubber bins with 3 inch net pots and hydroton pellets system cost $500 (breakdown) $260 T5 light, $18 (3) 9 gallon mixing bins, $10 (1) 2x8 3/4 inch styrafoam board, $20 big bag of hydroton, $15 (50) 3 inch net pots, $80 nutrients, $10 (1) timer. My plants have exactly a month in veg and are ready or almost ready to be placed in the flowering section. I also plan on installing a gravity fed irrigation drip system very soon. I will be switching them from a hydroponic veg setup to flowering in soil for medical and taste purposes. The soil I'm using is organic roots with 3 weeks of nutritional supply already in soil and hydroton 50/50mix with 1 inch bottom layer of straight hydroton the buckets a 12 quarts or 3 gallon each i might also use coco coir. I'm planning on leaving them to flower in this section for 3 weeks to a month with the 4 week being a flush week then switching them to the new flower room to 5 gallon buckets with organic roots soil 50/50 mix with 3 more weeks of nutrients then flush the 4th week and harvest. Now that I got yall up to date here's my questions and concerns
1st- how many buckets or plants should I have under my temporary flowering section with 560watts total until my new flowering room is done which will also be overdriven t8? 2nd- what type of yield could I expect from my 560 watts if I was to let them flower in this section with 8 to 16 plants. 3rd- I heard with t8 it's a rule of thumb to multiply your output wattage by 3.5 to get to total amount of grams one can get from fluorescent tube lighting is this true or false. From my research I think I can pull anywhere from 560 grms to 1960 grams what do you guys think? Please ask away if I left anything out by the way I don't have an exhaust system yet because it's not needed as of right now being that it's a basement but I do have a fresh air intake fan for fresh CO2
