burned my bud :(

ok so the other day when i got home from work i was greeted by a horrific scene. one of my cfls had dropped onto one of my big buds main colas. however only one side of the bud was burned n the other side looks completely green. my question id will the bud continue to grow or should i just chop it? also would the buds below the main one keep growing? any help appreciated and +rep for good answers

I just burned some of my bud too! I used a bubbler though, not a CFL. Just messing with you, but seriously I feel bad for you. Whatever was burned won't grow of course, but the rest will so It's not a total loss. I'd just grow it out, especially if that's all you have.

I read this one guy did the same thing, and actually got positive results. he said the buds grew back bigger and stronger. I wouldn't chop just yet, see what happens. Might be fucked, might not.

so even if i chop that top bud the rest of the branch wont grow? cuz its just a lil spot probly like a 2 inch area if that
also no leaves were really burned just the tip top of the bud

I would trim off the burnt parts of the bud, get it down to fresh bud and let it go, it might even grow back some..

got damn it...last poster took my post....well i burned my weed too, acually with an hps, and DO NOT CHOP. just like a burn you get on your hand all you see is the blister, its acully deep burns that you have to worry about. a cfl shouldnt have burnt it completely so you should get continued growth on that kola and others but it acts like topping it...it wont grow upward with the same vigor but you will get swelling. i dont know how far into flower you are but if you think it wouldnt cause mold or mildew this late in the game i would spritz it a little with some water (cold) and mabye rotate your gal if you can to get the affected area a little break for a while. thats about all i can suggest and happy harvests my freind . stay medicated.

idk about spraying it the buds are pretty bug at this point n i just lost a jar of some bawm to some mold n i dont think i can handle that kind of loss again lol. so should i chop just the burned part to stimulate new growth or will it start to grow again on its own?

i will say again...DO NOT FRAKIN CHOP!!!!!!!!!!!! the only thing chopping any buds on your plant will do late in flower (from my personal experience) is stunt further growth in your kola and bulk up all the popcorn nuggets scattered around the bottoms of your plants. a CFL shouldnt get NEAR as hot as a HID and as such you should only have gotten a minor burn (1st degree) if it was a third degree burn then yes chopp it because it will continue dying even after the first notice of the burn, but as long as your plant hasnt given up then why would you???? stay medicated.

ok i wont chop.... i do have a 250watt hps but i keep the cfl on my big bud cuz its short n stalky unlike the rest of my plants n i wanted to keep it that way
