Buying Light Bulbs

I will most likely be buying 2 of these:
600 HPS DUAL Cool Tube Grow Light System | BGH
600w HPS lights to cover my 18 plants I will be growing. When it comes to all the options that i have when buying the light such as extra lights and upgrades, I need a little help. Also, should i get 2 different kind of lights for the different stages? Any help would be awesome!

lots of grow shops have a hid light with switchable bulbs. metal halide bulbs are the best for vegging, hps -high pressure sodium. are the best for flowering.
