c02 - am I missing something?

Not a pro grower, ben doing it about a year, but gettin good results and i like the sound of this co2. I have done so much routing around for info on this but it just ain't easy to get.

From what I understand I can add co2 to my tent but I would need to turn off my intake and out-take fans and buy a air cooled lights and a air conn.

Questions..
1.) Can I use it in a tent cause it does have like holes where there cables run from, although on a draw string its not air tight.

2.) How can I mask the smell if no extraction, so no carbon filter?

3.) How is the oxygen created by plants released from the room?

I would say you turn the fans and exhaust off while the CO2 is being added and while it lingers in the air.Once it as dissipated you can turn you fans and stuff back on.

use dry ice get a block of it put it on your floor shut the lights and fan, leave it until its gone then put the fans on and lights..i do this 2-3 times a week..its easy compared to using a tank of co2..and cheaper...

Co2 is a very very effective way to increase yields if used properly. The key word is properly. If you have the cash, buy a ppm controller, tank, and valve. While it's best to not have to exhaust the air in the tent (cause the plants don't need "fresh" air) it's ok if you do; it is just going to waste some CO2. Obviously your going to need an ac hood. That is a given. The smell issue is not an issue at all. Just stick your carbon filter with a fan on it in the corner. When it starts to stink, just turn it on. It will "scrub" all the air clean, no air has to exit.

There are two ways to deal with heat. The best would be just stick a window mount ac in the side of the tent, set the maximum temperature.. Which is now going to be 85 because the higher metabolic rate of your plants will not be limited by co2 concentrations. The other way would be to use a temp controller in your fans. It gets too hot and they turn on, it cools down and they turn off.

Depending on your tent an lights, a good ac hood and inline fan may keep temps inline without and controls at all. What's nice about the AC is that it doesn't matter if you have to humidifiers or it's hot outside or whatever, it will never get above that temp that you set it at.

If you ask people that have a ppm controller they will tell you there is no way in he'll to get proper concentrations without it. Not a timer, bowls full of yeast or dry ice. Those techniques are for the " I think I'll try this" or "this is probably close enough" type of growers.

Spend the $800 or so it's going to take, set it up properly and I guarantee that you will shit yourself when you see how fast the plants will grow and how big their buds can get. The 40% increase you hear is no joke. Putting dry ice in your grow room however, is.

i currently have a 4x600w in a 2m x 2m x 2m tent using 4 nft thanks.

i was gonna set up a co2 test with a a 1m x 1m x 2m tent, with one air cooled 600w light and a air conditioning unit.

so i can leave my carbon filter and fan hanging, just remove the ducting so its not blowing out.

OK so the planets will use the co2 to create oxygen, but how will the oxygen be released from the tent, dont want stale air in the tent.

No need to do a test homie, just set it up it will work wonders.

Plants use co2 and light energy to form glucose. I.e. Photosynthesis They only release oxygen at night when they respire. I would believe 100% improvement but you must have your shit dialed to take advantage of co2

Meaning everything must be in place to support higher metabolic rates; principally temps and light
