Calcium? Magnesium? Potassium? Not enough nute?

I've been poring over these and other forums trying to find this exact problem.

It seems like some people are saying its a Calcium deficiency, others a Magnesium deficiency. A lot of conflicting opinions out there and I don;t want to mess this up any more than I already have.

This is my first grow and I've put a lot of research and care into it. I simply didn't know how to transition them nute wise into flower and now I've ruined a lot of the beautiful vegetation I spent 3 months growing.

One plant is really getting wiped out by this problem. She's keeping her top leaves and buds alive, but at the cost of all of the fan leaves, The other plants are starting to show signs too. Am I under nuting them? I'm giving them about 4 - 5 ml of Dyna Gro Bloom. They got half and half Bloom and Gro for the week after 12/12, then straight Bloom. I've used no Calcium or Magnesium. I also haven't changed or flushed the soil, but I was really light with the feeding during veg. About a quarter tsp per gallon. The water is airing out to evaporate the chlorine. And that is all I can think of. I've been fighting mites for months, had the lamp fall on the plants just before I had to leave for a gig. (Talk about panic mode.) It's been a nightmare. A learning experience, but a nightmare too. I have a lot more respect for the people who grow the weed I smoke. I also really feel bad that my plants are sick. I've taken care of them every day for 4 months now. They've got their own personalities and quirks and I probably care about them more than just for their smoke potential anymore. I'm a sucker like that.

Please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong so I can save whatever is left of this crop. I really do appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

I think N def. I think it's too soon for so-called "bloom nutrients." I would be around NPK ratio 1-1.2-1.8 at that stage of growth. No higher than 1-1.5-1.8.

You're feeding a ratio 1-4-2. I finish at 1-2-2.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to try flushing her completely, going back to the Grow formula and adding some fresh Fox Farms Ocean Forest to the top of her pot. Anything else you might recommend I add to that?

Id say since you added no calmag its the calmag, plus you said you didnt feed much in veg. So probably nitrogen stores are low. Yellowing usually means a lack of something not an overage. Were you clawing or having tips burn? That's toxicity.
Edit...i think nitrogen uptake and calcium are related. Dont quote me, id look it up for yourself.

I think flushing is excessive. (It's deficient already.).

I would feed the "grow" bottle once to get it some nitrogen. Maybe 20-30% runoff for a mini-flush. Then I would use this spreadsheet to figure out how much of "grow" and "bloom" to mix to get a sane NPK ratio. For your plant's age, I would aim for 1-1.2-2 to 1-1.5-2.

The spreadsheet will help you think about what you're actually feeding, not abstracted "grow" and "bloom" bottles. It can help you read your plant and feed what it needs (instead of following a proprietary schedule).

The consensus seems to be CalMag down at the garden store too. I went ahead and watered them with 5ml Green Magic after retopping the buckets with ocean forest.

Thanks for the info. Fortunately, I didn't flush. I was looking for the info you're talking about(how to mix Gro and Bloom) but had no idea what ratios I would be looking for. It's a wonder these poor things survived my education. Many didn't. I'll have to do a little more homework it looks like. T.

"Calmag" typically has nitrogen. So, you could be fixing that problem (if that's what it is) indirectly.

Yellow, pale, dark spots , some curling and twisting this is a cal mag deficiency it can also look like Nitrogen toxicity in its late stages wich would include crispy brown spots also. I love botanicare cal mag plus it contains fe wich greens up things nicely without all the Nitrogen.

THanks to everyone, Jimmy, az, Alienwidow (and Chrondidly for the compliment.) It must've been the Cal-Mag and nitrogen, because they seem to be pulling through. Big downside to losing all of those fan leaves down below, is that the mites have less to munch on so they're heading for the buds! 3 weeks til harvest means I've got one more week to neem them right?

To recap: You guys saved my butt. It was a Cal-Mag deficiency. I'm looking for signs of over nute or deficiency to adjust the formula, but I'm feeding this(corrections welcome): 1 ml Green Magic Cal Mag, 2 ml DynaGro Grow, 3ml DynaGro Bloom per gallon. I'm feeding every watering (three days) unless someone says otherwise.
