Calculations for CBD oil

Hi,

I'm making some CBD oil and have looked up several recipes. They all refer to the quantity of cannabis in grams but no one mentions if that weight is before or after decarboxylation. It obviously makes quite the difference in weight. In doing my calculations for my recipe and the amount of CBD in my oil, should I use before or after weight?
In a side note, I'm using last year's cannabis which has been stored in sealed mason jars in the dark with Boveda packs. The hygrometer has been at 62% all along. Would the cannabis have degraded much? Would I have to build that into my calculations?

Thanks for any input.

I use decarboxylated weight for oral medications.

How does the stored material look and smell?

Thanks for your input. The stored material looks and smells fine. But I'm not sure if it loses any potency after so long.
It will have lost some but should still be potent if it was kept cool. May I suggest that you run a small sample first if you are concerned?

You could present this product differently. For example, say that this batch is for those who have just decided to try the action of CBD, but are still afraid of the possible effect. It might even expand your clientele :) I have noticed the difference between the batches of CBD that I've bought. But it's been a few years since I read about these oils on https://fithealthways.com and learned to feel the difference. And you can help those who are just starting their experiments. You say that the material looks and smells great. So, there is nothing to be afraid of.

It hardly makes a difference when you don't know the actual amount of CBD in the pot you're using to start off with.

When I make RSO I decarb the oil after I'm done the extract. If I'm making something like budder then I'll cook the pot up in the butter with no water and raise the temp after a couple hours of cooking to let it decarb. Strain, then cool the butter/oil mix down to add water and stir it at a simmer for a while to allow all the water soluble stuff to go into the water then cool and remove the budder as usual. If it's going to be used in baked edibles then it decarb then so doesn't need to be decarbed before extraction. Coconut oil works as well and my preference over butter.

I just read a post put up today about someone decarbing on parchment paper and stinking up their place with it. That stink is all terpenes and good meds being wasted. SMH.

:peace:
