I have grown a pre-98 bubba kush from a clone only unknown (to me) breeder source, as well as the Cali Connection Pre 98 Bubba BX2. The BX2 is by far the best for me. In soil, the BX2 and regular bubba were comparable in yield, but in hydro, holy shit. with hydro, the bubba yielded 45.9 grams, which was the same in soil, which caused me to toss the genetics and no longer keep the mother.
The bx2 on the other hand, like I said, holy shit. In soil, it yieled about what bubba yielded, slightly under 50 grams. But in hydro, I will post pictures of one bx2 plant. It has not been weighed, but I am guessing 6 ounces (4 full mason jars.) The plant has an awesome gray/purple look to it, it smells/tastes like some sort of creamy coffee beverage. It is not a skunky funky strain, so I think if odor is a problem, this doesn't have the skunky weed smell while growing.
It is dank as can be. Cali BX2 is good. Oh yeah, it hermies. LOL there's always a catch. However, my Cali 818 Headband hermies as well. Both these hermies do not have bananas that open that often, and when they do, they have not made any seeds. I got zero seeds from the looks of trimming that one plant, but I did encounter probably 5 pollen sacks spread throughout the lower portion of the plant. I keep the headband and bx2 mothers because they are dank as all hell, I am ok they pop a weiner here and there. I think that is common, I know it's not a light leak.
