Anyone have any experience with California Lightworks Solarflare 200w Full Cycle LED? I have a 4x4 tent and want to start out experimenting with one plant. I have narrowed it down to the Cali Lightworks 200w and the Prosource 180w UFO. The cali light has 5w diodes and the prosource has 1w (some say better light penetration with more watts). I have smoked the end product of the Prosource grow and are very pleased but are curious about the advantage of 5w diodes... Any input would be sweet! :eyesmoke:

I don't know about the california lightworks model, but the 5w diodes on my lumigrow penetrate very well. I think the Lightworks model would be a better buy, and its a US company too

Last month I finished a single DinaFem Sweet Deep Grapefruit using the California Lightworks Solarflare 200w. I was VERY satisfied with it & wouldn't hesitate to recommend the light to anyone.

I vegged under 2 x 144 watts T5 panels on the sides & added the SolarFlare (160W actual draw) to the top when I changed the light cycle to induce flowering. I had a tight grow space of 22" x 26" and it was only my second DWC hydro grow. For my limited grow area & minimal experience, I was pleased with the yield weight from the plant after a 5 day dry. The buds were much bigger & more dense than I was able to previously achieve with only the T5 lights.

I have also started 3 afgan kush seedlings under the light, that I transplanted outdoors. They seemed to really love the LED light and took right off after sprouting.

On my next indoor grow... I plan to ditch the T5, add a second SolarFlare & use only the LED lights for the entire grow. IMO they are more than capable of doing the job themselves & are the best LED light on the market right now for the money ($400 or less).

How loud is the Solarflare 200? I'm thinking about picking 2 of them up for my 36x20 tent. Probably just do 2 plants. 1 under each light.

I asked George the following questions about a year ago, with respect to buying a full/bloom/veg spectrum light(s):

Q: How much growth/bloom advantage, would you estimate, can be achieved by using the relay of the VegMaster & Blooster lights vs. the single FullCycle light? Is it possible to quantify to a percentage estimate for each? 5% or 50%? For the average Joe, do you feel it is worth the extra month for the two specialized spectrum lights over just a single fullcycle light?

A: Using the SolarFlare VegMaster/BloomBooster combo vs. SolarFlare FullCycle. For the average Joe, I would say use the FullCycle. We really have not done complete grows with the different combinations to really know for sure. And I would love to tell you that the VegMaster/BloomBooster combination will yield 50% more just to sell you two lights instead of one. But that would not be true. I would recommend you start with one SolarFlare FullCycle. If you end up setting up separate rooms for Veg and Bloom then using the different versions will make sense. If I were to put a number on the growth advantage of the FullCycle vs VegMaster/BloomBooster combo I would put it within the 5-10% range.


After doing a grow with a single full spectrum 200w light, I would personally go with the 2 full spectrum lights. A single light was plenty powerful enough for penetration, but it would have been nice to have some more light beam angles to work with for a larger foot print in order to cover the foliage better... Two full spectrum lights would allow for that & I believe be money better spent than one each of the specialized spectrum lights.

you yielded 680grams in 2x2 grow space?

Hello all I too have a clw solar flare full cycle, and have checked some LUX/LMN and they are off the hook for the draw/watts stuff at 12". 12/12 starts tonight wish me luck!!


any help about light distance to top of plant info im currently at 18". thanks be safe all.

I run my SolarStorm 800w 12 inches :P With an Osc fan in there, and ventilation or a non enclosed space.. you can get them even closer
