can a 400 watt hps produce half a pound of bud?

i have 2 ak48 plants and i want to harvest 4 oz a plant im gone to veg them for 2 months and then switch to 12/12,i have them in 5 gal pots

Maybe... You'll have to veg them longer though. 4 months, maybe more...unless they're growing super fast. Your going to have to top them several times and LST them to get more colas, too. That's why you'd want to go longer. And you'll need a large container of soil, say at least 5 gal, probably more.

Seriously, for a 2 month veg I'd be happy with 2 oz each. 1/4 pound sounds more on target.

I veg from seed for about. 6 weeks.

I use the mainline training technique.

I average +400g from my 400w setup.

4 plants that finish around 2-2.5ft tall with around 4oz on each.

Coco medium with coco specific nutes.

Assuming your grow has normal/decent conditions and you have a general idea how to grow then yes it will pull that no problem. With 2 moths veg you can hit your mark X2 if you know how to grow.

imo, a half a p under a 400 really shouldn't be that far of a stretch.. i know someone who pulled over a pound under a 250 and a few cfls, dwc, single plant..
