Can a dust to dawn light mess your plant up

I have a couple plants outside my house and I'm wondering about a dust to dawn light that's mounted on the side of my building. I've heard before that there's maybe a possibility of them making the plant turn into a hermie or something along those lines, please any input is appreciated thanks

Yeah, they'll veg fine like that but when it starts to flower that's definitely gonna present a problem, especially if its like a metal halide or high pressure sodium on the corner of a building or barn or whatever. Even if its on a 30 foot building if the plant has noticeable light on it, it will definitely cause some stress, and like dude said cause it to Hermie or whatnot.

But it's ok now while it's still in veg? I'll def figure something out once the flowering starts , so basically you have to have complete darkness when it's flowering? I mean it isn't directly above it but like 15 ft away and prob 13-15 ft up on the building. Could I put something over them like a big box or maybe a black trash bag over them?

if you bag them during flower you will get mold in the buds.. best thing to do is to unscrew the light and tell the wife it's burnt out and add it to the honey dew list and don't fix it till the plant has flowered out, most kinds of lights during flower will be harmful to your flowering plants so even if you block the overhead light the side light from the shadows will still effect them.

some outside growers will tell you the full moon will cause the plant to hermie but it's not true.. the full moon stage doesn't produce the luminous output to do any kind of harm to a plant..

either move the plant or a bb gun works well if you can't reach it.
