Can a lack of nitrogen/flushing too early inhibit trichome maturation?

Hey, I was just wondering if a lack of nitrogen would contribute to trichomes not turning amber. I've been flowering a few different strains out and it seems like the trichomes should have turned more amber than they have by now. These are 8 week strains and I'm letting them go 9 weeks because I prefer a more sedative smoke, but I"m just not getting hardly any amber. Everything is mostly cloudy, and the buds are nice and full and dense. Everything looks great, just not getting the amber. Was thinking it's maybe because I try to get as smooth a smoke as possible, so I sometimes flush a little longer than most people might. Would that delay trichome maturation?

Obviously flushing too early or insufficient feeding will contribute to delayed flowering/maturation of the plant, but I'm talking specifically about trichome maturation from cloudy to amber.

Hmm interesting thought, initial reaction is no but I'd like science to back that up.

who says its an 8 week strain? I think that very few of the strains advertised as 8-weekers actually finish in 8 weeks. Pay no mind to the harvest times. Just watch the plant and let it finish.

lack of nitrogen= less trichome production. to the naked eye this seems possibly false,

but a plant that never is nitrogen defcient besides last couple weeks will be more potent. but also taste a tad more green
