Can a plant be too bushy?

I know they say "the bushier the better" but is it possible to have a plant get so bushy with little stretch and that affect the plant in a negative way? This is a 6 week old white widow. It is just at 11" tall. It is getting so bushy that the tops and leaves just seem to be tangling around each other.extremely bushy white widow.JPG

Are you planning on flowering it soon? You can get so bushy all you end up with is popcorn buds. And if they can't get airflow then you could end up with mold and mildew. You might want to cut off some small inner branches close to the stalk. take another pic from the side and the inside of the plant because its hard to tell what all you have going on from the top.

they should streatch out once you flower, I have a strain right now that is super busy too.I am raising the lights tomorrow to try and get a little stretch

Also one thing I like to do when this happens. Is once they are around 8-12 inches Ill pull the outer edges of the plant down and I zip a hole with a drill in the top rim of my pot and tie the team down. Now you dont want to do this right after water, there is a good chance is your over zealous you can snap the stalk, Little bends at a time this will open up the center and get more light in side it works great.

I had considered putting up a trellis of some kind but can I start that so close to going into flower?

Spread the branches out a little. Get some more circulation around it. I'd also suggest reading a little about defoliation. Pinching of a few of those fan leaves strategically! Would help. Other than that you can bush it out as far or wide as your lighting will permit it to receive enough light to grow properly.

What I would do is drill 4 holes all opposite of each other(four corners) take one branch with some twine and tie it off repeat all four corners. no need to do a trellis. check this out my man http://www.growweedeasy.com/lst#what-is-lst I do this every grow some times I top and LST, OR Sometimes just LST. But I always try to maximize my crop. At this point I think to cause as little stress going into flower, I would not remove ANY fan leaves unless they are in the bottom on the plant and buried under leaves, you want all the leaves you can putting sugar into your soil.. FAN leaves are GOOD! LST allows you to maximize your harvest with little to no stress.:weed::leaf::peace:

Don't pull off leaves or cut any branches until you show us those inner and side pictures. Like I said you cant tell from the top view.

A tomato cage will work and give you freedom to move the pot around.

I think that the problem is that your lights are all blue. Red light causes distance between nodes to increase and you have very less red light and so your plant is bushy. I would add a bit of red light for healty growth

Yes a plant can be too bushy. Then it makes a lot more but smaller buds, hassle to trim for the same yield or maybe less. The branches get crowded and the shorter ones are blocked out.
