can a small tent make do without an oscillating fan?

I have a 2x2x5 tent, and a 200cfm exhaust fan with passive intake. Do I really need an additional oscillating fan to move air?

It seems like once we harvest the buds, we go through extreme measures to avoid exposing the buds to too much air (mason jars, etc). Wouldn't a fan blowing directly on the buds cause more oxidation and degradation of the resin before it's even harvested?

NO....you need to move the air through the plants for several reasons, one of which is to create wind, something the plant doesn't get indoors, to strengthen stems. The leaves also respire easier and the o2 is moved from under the canopy. You also need the moving air to prevent mold, fungi, damping off, etc.

a circulating fan is beneficial because it constantly provides fresh air to the plants as well as helps in the development of strong stems and roots.

Yes, a fan is necessary. I started my grow without one and it was a mistake. Since I've added one to my room my plants are growing even better.

Id def put a fan in there. even tho you have an exhaust fan its not circulating the air. You need something to keep the air moving around and you want something that will help strengthen you stems and branches just like out side.

As far as I've understood it, the oscillation is merely to simulate wind, and to relieve the plant of monotonous stress. If you have several small fans (or intake holes, given positive airflow of course), the air around the leaves will get exchanged, but they will get much of the pressure dealt to them in one spot, instead of spreading it like the fickle wind outside.

I have a small box thats almost done, and time is pressing for me to finish. I got plenty of fans, but no oscillation ones small enough to avoid compromising the overall growspace. Its my second grow, but first serious attempt (1st was under a table with some CFLs, foil, and 10"osc... put short, not very sincere)

How about this?; A small PC-fan hanging on 2 threads knotted together so it all hangs on a single thread from the ceiling. The fan should be slightly tilted so the air goes downwards (hence, 2 threads on fan, knotted to 1).
The one thread holding it all won't prevent the fan from spinning/turning when moved by its own air moved, or if hit by another small fan (located in a vacant slot) to make it pendle.
,,, Its what I've figured might be the best homemade solution. Finding a proper oscillating fan small enough is rather difficult in imo.

Any tips to improve this idea?
