big difference.IF you air cool the hoods you can keep the light a foot closer. And with thats glass its like having a bare bulb that close
I suppose w one plant per light....... Otherwise they gotta be off the canopy to spread the light ..... And the distance is about the same w or without the glass....... If you're using a magnum youre planning on covering some space

Measured the foot candle loss (intensity) with glass in a reflector compared to no glass.

Measured directly below the bulb (1K hps hortilux) without glass 18" is 10,000 foot candles (fc) which is the maximum sunlight intensity in my hood.

With the glass 16" is 10,000 fc.

Sooooo, is it worth doing?
