Can i germinate seeds by putting them in the soil directly under lights

It is possible... but I'd advise germing... that way in a day or two you know if they're starting..starting in soil you can stare at the pot for days waiting to see if they're good... IMO.

its true you can do it ether way but it is better in a moist paper towel on a plate

well ive been doing it in a paper towel and only two out of twenty germ how do u know
the seed is good
there are a few ways that some people say you can do to see if its good, if it floats, the color, and a few more but I am not sure how true it is. I always would just germ a few more then I wanted and hope for the best. I put them in a paper towel on a plate and then wrap the plate in plastice wrap and put it on a heating pad on low, and got a pretty good succsess rate
