can i remove or reduce alkalinity without using RO?

britta does nothing for the alkalinity of my water, it can run as high as 250+ PPM. Is there another solution or is RO the only way to reduce this? I've found countless ways to increase it but that's not what I need. thanks in advance

ok you have two seperate questions here or wording things a little wrong. alkalinity is reffering to the ph of the water, while ppm describes the dissolved solid particulate in the water as parts per million. if youre looking to drop ppm, an ro system does the job quite well, as far as ph goes there are many ways to drop or raise it, store bought or home ingredients.
