Can I switch from chemical to organic nutes?

Or did I just waste $20?

I want to use a chemical nute for veg and switch back to organic for flowering, is that possible? What if I dose the shit out of the soil (recommended dosage) with big bloom during transition?

using ffof + lime, grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom.... picked up dynagro foliage to replace grow big. Then I read the msds and it's all chemicals :dunce:

To each their own, hippies use poop, scientists use chemicals, they both get you stoned, but which one gives you cancer first? :D

jmo, but it's not 'chemicals" so much as the inorganic nutrients your plant craves. Inorganic in this context doesn't mean "not organic". Organic nutes contain these same salts as the actual nutrient, along with more-or-less cool&useful impurities. Your plant will see only one thing: pure sweet nutrition. So long as you don't overdo it ... jmo.
Treat it like any other nutrient. Don't go hog wild with big bloom ... it's all food.

LOL, I don't care about ingesting chemicals, I care about the microbes in the soil.

I started switching from chemicals to organics as soon as my plants started flowering. I use a mixture of the Roots Organics series by Aurora.. I really like the nutes and they aren't chemically derrived. Check them out here and see if any local hydro places sell their product http://www.aurorainnovations.org/buddha_grow.html. I'm assuming if you feed completely organic during the flowering cycle your chemical nutes will be flushed by the time you chop. You could always do a massive flush before you switch, too.

OK, I was worried that chemical nutes would kill the microbes in my soil, inhibiting the chelation of organic nutrients. :leaf:

Chelation won't be an issue. I just looked up the MSDS for Foliage ... it includes a chelating agent ... admittedly a synthetic. If I had to offer some advice, it's this: Go easy with the Dyna Gro. It won't kill the microbes, but an overly aggressive N spike could upset the beneficial/neutral microbe ratios. Good organic feed acts as slow-release NPK as is.

Thanks man, I had a real hard time learning how to feed my plants and relied mostly on the nutes in my OF to get through my grows. I read a few things about CEC, PH, and EC but that's just one piece of a very intricate puzzle. ...feel like i'm stuck on training wheels but this is very helpful info, good karma all around.

Thanks guys!!!!
