Can I transplant during the 6th week of flowering??

Hey guys...My plant had a calcium deficiency so i had to give it some meds and see how things come along. So I stopped at a dispensary and asked this guy who they said was a master grower how my plant was looking to him and what should I do after the calcium deficiency and he told that for a first time grower im overachieving with my plant but if I want to get a good yield I need to transplant from the 3 gallon smart pot im in now and switch to a 5 gallon and use Ocean Forest mixed with the Coco Coir im using now instead of the Kind Soil and Coco Coir cause the roots are bound. I thought that plants dont get rootbound in smart pots but I did see a few ppl saying that it happened to them in smart pots. I already implemented cal-mag, dolomite lime and epsom salt to my water mix and the buds started getting bigger again and the leaves are starting to turn purple from genetics I suppose but does anybody else think what he's saying is correct?? I mean he is a master grower from the main dispensary in the city..

I have transplanted late in flower. It seemed to slow growth for a day or two, but in my case I think it paid off. It also depends on strain. If it's an 8 or 9 week strain, there isn't much to gain, but if it is a sativa and runs 10 or more weeks I think that you would see a measurable increase in yield by repotting.

Im not exactly sure what strain it is because it was a seed that I found in some loud I had awhile ago but it's most likely some sour. As you can see from the pics I posted, it looks like a hybrid plant with both indica and sativa leaves but it's definitely sativa in it cause it grew over 5ft on me so I had to bend the main cola sideways cause I was running out of room. I saw a few sour plants with purple edge leaves on google so it could be that

Don't waste your time transplanting now... The root zone is where its goin to be at now So its really pointless... Next grow, make sure to be in that 5 by flip if you have the space...

I agree with auldone. It's too close to finish to bother repotting. It's a beautiful plant. You'll get a good harvest.

Thanks! Once the deficiency is over with will it effect the taste or potency?

Thanks! I only have a 4x2 tent so I def cant do the 5 gallon next time cause Im trying to fit 3 or 4 plants in there for the next go round..Im addicted to this just like Jorge said! I cant stop thinking about enhancing my craft allday everyday! I was looking at this plant as an experiment but im getting alot of good compliments which is making me more confident. Does the plant look like a hybrid to you too? The lower leaves have a indica look but the higher ones are sativa..

I really don't think so. It's still healthy, just beginning to fade which is fairly normal late in flower. Your buds are developing well and will finish just fine.

plant looks great, don't listen to the guy at the dispensary....far as i know, theres no agency in the us certifying people as master growers...and if there is, wtf is my license?
3 gallons is a little small, next time jump up when you put them into the flower area, i go from 2 gallon plastic grow bags to 7 gallon smart pots, or 5 gallon hempy buckets when i flip them.
i've never had a lot of luck mixing soil and coco coir. as a matter of fact it caused me no end of ph problems. soil is soil, and coco is considered a hydroponic medium. soil phs at 6.5-6.8, coco phs at 5.8-6.2. pick one or the other , and use something like perlite to lighten it up.

Ok cool..I think imma just keep this plant the way it is then on the next round i'll try one plant with the ocean forest and the other with coco coir cause this plant was flourishing and pretty healthy and I didnt even use any nutrients cause I thought you didnt need it with coco coir but that wasnt true. It was a good learning experience though for my first time growing..Im surprised i didnt run into more problems. Does the plant look like a hybrid to you?

Nearly all cannabis is hybrid these days. You can definitely see some sativa in it. It will probably be good smoke. I have my own living soil now, but I started out with Happy Frog. I just added some extra perlite and went with it. I've since added and amended and reused the same soil. It's much better now than it was in the beginning. There's some coco coir in there too, from my failed attempt at coco. It just wasn't for me. I find that 7 gallon pots give me the best yield for most strains. 15s for the bigger plants like my Blue Dream, are ideal. Pot size really makes a difference in soil, anyway. If you have the room, you can really produce some great plants.

Wow.. sounds like you have a nice sized crop over there! Lol..Ive heard a few ppl mention this perlite stuff..What does that stuff do?

It is expanded glass (superheated like popcorn?). It increases drainage. I used more when I first started, because I tended to over water, but now I use about 25% which works out pretty well. You don't have to have it if you use the OF, because it already has some in it, but you just have to find the sweet spot with watering, as you do with any medium. I am putting in a blumat system. I'll let you know how that works out...

Cool..I only water in coco on the fourth day meaning I always leave 3 days in between to prevent any type of mold or fungus and its been working beautifully so imma stick with that when using coco..I can't wait until this is done so i can start my 2nd crop! I ordered alot of flavors of seeds..Im real excited about my new hobby..lol

Warning: It's VERY addictive. I had to get a small refrigerator just for my "seed collection"....you've got the bug!

Lol! It's definitely true! I can't stop thinking about my plant or the next crop! Next up for me is Sage n Sour, Pineapple kush, Blueberry n either Burmese kush or Master kush if I can fit 4 in the tent..lol

I personally would top dress with some real nice rich compost and water it in...I wouldn't take the chance on transplanting. You're plants are fucking beautiful. Don't ever listen to anyone who says they are a master at anything. Come here and ask some of our old heads who've been growing since the stoned ages.

That's what top dressing is. Those of us who use the "no till" method amend the soil using this method. I top dress with rabbit poop from my bunnies...works great.
