Sorry, sounds like i am being an ass. I would recommend reading for a few months until you think you have a good grasp of what you are doing, then read for another few months and repeat the entire process again.

Besides, no one can answer your question without you giving more details about your light. If you do not know what details are relevant then read, read, read and cut and paste things that seem fundamental to your goal. If you want to learn, then you have to study. Consider this forum like a library and you will do well.

If I had to answer your question with just one vague detail I would have to say "No, you cannot use that bulb for both flower and veg". Sounds like you either have a single floro or an incandescent. Neither is worth your effort. I would start with CFL's and organic soil for your first grow.

Everything you need to know is here on the board but if it is knowledge you crave , then it is knowledge you must search. Now go peacefully young grasshopper.

I am going to assume since you don't read many people using 70 watt florescent OR incandescent bulbs... it's either a specific grow light for like herb gardens or the like?maybe? The general rule of thumb is keep it around 50 watts for 1' footprint (size on the incandescent) and you should be ok.. more is better obviously, but you could potentially raise one medium sized plant, or a few smaller plants.. smaller would be better for reasons of light penetration.

It's not the kind of light you use that determines when or if you can flower, it's based on the time of "on" time the lights are on. once you want to put your plant into flower drop your light schedual to 12/12.

You should be ok, but post a link to the light you are talking about so people will know for sure what to help you with as dingbang said.

I do disagree with him on the point of read for 5 months before you grow... you can read all you want, but you are going to learn that all the book learning in the world isn't going to teach you NOT to nute before a month old.. watch you PH... what is going on with my plants??? are posted all the time and the answer 95% of the time can be attributed to nute burn, or ph issues which can cause all kinds of lock outs and problems... you learn that by fucking up your babies.. we all do it, we all learn from it.. and "it says on the nute bottle you can nute from seed" still doesn't change the fact you shouldn't.. and you'll learn only after you do it yourself.
