Can i use this bulb in a normal fixture?

It says its Self starting. Does this mean i can use it without a ballast on a fitting that is putting out the correct amount of watts????

No, you need a ballast.

theres one on that same website for 32 pounds for a 250 watt

Nahh mate. Maybe just the bulb the 250w bulb costing 12 ish quid. but ballast and stuff ect. is around 80 pounds. 83.16 to be precise in pounds. In dollars its - $120.56
