Can someone who knows leds give an honest opinion

Hi All. First a thanks to everyone on the site that have been so helpful and friendly.
So I've been attempting to find the best led I can afford. I really want to go with cobs or quantum boards but they are not cheap. Also being able to design something to fit my area perfectly is a big plus for me. Anyway a friends buddy has a lighting business and said he could set me up. I told him I really want to stay with led and he has said that these lights called Hubbell cultivare are great lights at a great price. Could someone who knows leds give an honest opinion on these? I'e included the manufacturers pdf with the specs. I'm only able to do this once for the foreseeable future so I need to get this right. Your help is always appreciated. Cheers

If I'm just looking for a high producing flower light what is the best spectrum? 3000 3500 4000?
 
Better to start with one quantum board kit and build up from there, rather than wasting money on something that has not been proven. Size of grow space would help others help you.
I have been running the first batch of quantum board kids over a year now 24/7 never had an issue. 5ftx2.5ft diy cab 4 x 3k quantum boards and never take them above 400watts in this cab.

Never used 3500 so can't comment. But I can confirm the 3000k quantum boards work excellent for veg and bloom. As I said check my diary a lot of info that will help you and results to prove.
 
the old school wisdom is higher kelvin numbers for veg, lower for flower, but as Blake said, 3500 seems to be the happy medium number, plants veg and flower equally well under it. the biggest result of kelvin number differences is the amount of stretch you get in flower, the closer together the numbers are that you veg and flower under, the less stretch you get.
so veg under a 6000k and flower under a 3000k, get a lot of stretch, veg under a 3500k, flower under a 3500k, you get very little stretch
 
So I contacted the manufacturer. The leds are cree. The unit normally retails for 900 Canadian and since it' a family friend and out of the box I can pick it up for 5 cash. Any thoughts? Sorry for coming back to this.
 
Thanks Cory. Nice to hear from you again. I had momentarily considered messaging you directly as your previous advice had been solid. Cheers. Would you happen to have a opinion on the fixture being offered? I really want to go with the hlg or timber light setups as everyone is raving about them. For my budget it doesn't seem I'm able to do much once shipping exchange rate etc. Which is how I ended up here lol.
 
Looks like decent specs on the fixture-based on what it states. You would need two of them to cover your space. The most cost effective/efficient DIY solution are strips. Excellent diode performance and super simple to use.
