Can you create a growth spurt

I have a plant that has a sizeable fan on it, since it started as a sprout, i have had this fan on it. i originally knew that if i put a fan on my plant, it would cause the plant to grow in a way that would help it protect itself from the wind, ie.. a thicker stem. then i began to think about the growth of the plant early on. so my fan has 3 settings, high medium and low, and i basically used then as a work out for the plant. thinking that when the plant had built up a resistance to a certain speed, that a lower speed would allow the plant to use the growing power in areas other than the stem, say just overall vegetative growth. for example i would put the fan on 3, which was a considerable anount of wind, actually to much, so i canted the fan so that it wouldnt beat it. and left it like that for a week, after that week, i lowered it to 1, and then to 2 the following week. now i am at the point to where the plant has had 3 weeks of some intense wind. and it has been resting for about 2 weeks, and it has just gone bezerk in growth. Is this possible? or is the plant growing from some other aspect? i used the correct soil mixture, and only use water and superthrive. i also found that the plant responded aswell to water on the leaves during the wind, like weight training almost. well i was wondering if anyone does this or is this common knowledge to create growth spurts?

sounds to me like youve got your girl thinking shes in harsh conditions. shes responding by putting on weight so she doesnt fall over. post a pic or two, but try not to overdo it. dont wanna stress her out and stunt her flowering power!

also, i would like to add that, the question is that once those harsh conditions were removed, wouldnt the plant be in a total growth frenzy, and if it were growing the stalk for the wind abuse, wouldnt then have some sort of "growth energy" that would continue on for some time? and thus be able to generate considerable growth in other areas of the plant when it the wind was taken away?

im not trying to achieve a growth spurt so to say, and i realize that there are others ways to get a growth spurt, but what im talking about, is using wind to train a plant to be stong, and gain size from tricking it, not enhancing it.

a plant uses a certain amount of energy no matter what. when a plant has to panic and grow a bigger stalk other growth suffers. in other words if a plant tells itself that it needs to protect itself from windy conditions and grow a bigger stalk, it will halt other growth to do this. the plant doesn't have a energy reserve it taps into when troubles come, it just has the ability to change the focus of energy to the troubled area. :peace:

Alot of wind CAN, not saying will... but can change its hormones per-say... if its a female it could turn hermie on you due to shock... I'd just watch out unless you have other plants to mess around with... but then again... dont mess around with my babies ._.
