Can you get mold on your medium

This is my first grow and I'm using Hempy buckets in Coco. I noticed tonight while watering that it looks like the top of the Coco has a slight greenish tint to it. Can that be mold or maybe moss?

My RH Is 35-40% and temps go from 68 lights off to 78 lights on. I have a big extraction fan that sucks the sides of the tent in a few inches on low. I also have a small clip on fan that circulates are near the top. I think I need a fan down lower.

One mistake I think I made is that I got a great deal on 3.5 gallon buckets when I was really wanting smaller 2.5-3 gallon buckets. I figured that I just wouldn't fill them all the way to the top. I'm thinking that might be an issue since the top of the Coco probably doesn't get much air since it's 3 or so inches below the top of the buckets.

I'm hoping the green tint is maybe coming from the nutrients being top fed and pretty heavily watered (10-15% run off every other day). Other than that the plants are in their 3rd week of Veg and look phenomenal.

If it's algae is it a problem? If it's mold can I scrape off the top layer and add more (fresh) Coco until it gets to the top edge of the buckets?

Its harmless, i get it on my coco and soil, dissapears when top layer dries reguarly, harmless to plants and roots.
 
Do you have a pic dude. I had that before but it didn't seem to hurt anything. It usually only grows on top of the media, not in it.
