Can you tell sex of a plants by preflowers.

I am a week into 12/12 and i am wanting to know if you can simply tell the sex by preflowers. I have several females shooting their pistols so far but a few of my other plants are, well just not showing signs yet. Is there any certain growth that will show me the sex or just need to wait to see pistols

You'll be able to tell in a few more days, the males will definately grab your attention, and when they do. bag em and tag em.. and get em gone quick

surprisingly in a lot of situations males will show first. If you have a late showing male, my advice would be to try and get some pollen from him and make a few seeds for yourself.

Never an exact determination. Many plants will put out the pre-flowers and switch sex on you when the buds start to set, some will show both. It's a game of wait and see.

the preflowers ARE the sex, they just have to grow out and MATURE, the plant wont show sex until its mature no matter how long its been on 12/12 flower, IF you have pistils, then they are coming from the PREFLOWER of the female plant, the preflower will either become a ball (or many such as grapes) or a nice ''closed tulip'' shape with 2 white hairs, PATIENCE is the way to win this game, hope this helps a little, good luck!!!!!

it really is a waiting game, when mine began preflowering I was sure they were all girls but it turned out I had two boys in the mix. Keep an eye on them because those boy balls should start showing up within a week or so in the preflower stage. If you do find some throw them out ASAP.

Thanks guys for all the quick responses. and don't worry i got my eye out for them little bastads. this is my first indoor grow so I'm keeping a very close eye on them all at the moment

just had 2 of 6 confirmed as male.......the 4 other are likely female, 2 of them are showing pre-flowers

so the longer it takes to confirm, the more likely they are gals

They just have to come out of the closet. You're all checking out this fine girls shape and hair, and all the sudden she changes clothes and you're all grossed out cause that ho turned out to be a he an you thought he was pretty.

this is kinda true but you cannot go by THAT, just plain old patience is gonna be the verdict no matter who you talk to, some mture faster than others, ive had males take longer to show also, so...... thats not a trustworthy guess!!! patience!!!!
