I am working on setting up my new system using the newer "slucket" R-DWC system. Each bucket is 8 gallons and there are 4 plus the epicenter piece. With this system it is simple to empty the buckets (just turn couple valves), but can I use just tap water?

Reason I ask is the last week you use no nutrients and just use water to flush the roots and plants, but with 40 gallons to swapout that is kinda a undertaking, since I have to buy water for use with nutrients.

My house uses well water and the PPM is over 400, which is why I don't use it for my plants. It does have a softener, but the PPM is still over 400. I do not have access or funds for a RO system at this time. Add the fact that the grow room is on the 2nd floor and hauling eight 5 gallon jugs up two sets of stairs is a chore, esp for just 1 tent.

So for purposes of a final week flush, would 400 PPM well water be fine or would that hurt the final results?

Thanks as always.

The ppm in your well water is the minerals the softner did not get out and the salt exchanged for the minerals the softner removed. The flush is to remove left over synthetic fertilizers. You will be fine, hell the salt from the softner may help by causing a build up on the roots prevents nutrient uptake. Nothing to worry about.
