Well after almost a year of not posting here I am starting a new grow journal 
. Since my last journal which sadly I did not finish but still smoking the results I figure it is time to start anew. First off I am growing some autos (lowryder x runt) you would have to go back into past journals to find out about runt but she was a sativa dom hybrid which was a nice smoke and crossed with lowryder. I am hoping that it produces a nice auto for me. I also have two females going now that come from el monstre and linda. Linda is a indica dom (Hawaii x skunk) cross that produced very well and was pretty mold resistant. El Monstre is from Sannie Seeds and produced a heavenly smoke, good rich blueberry taste, easy on the throat, great great high but also very prone to mold here.
Ok, here is my set up. I live in Costa Rica now, been here for 4 years and I live at an altitude of about 6500 ft above sea level, very wet, windy and cool. The humidity rarely goes below 80% and we receive close to 200 inches of rain per year with the wettest month being Oct. This is really bad for flowering outside and even in a greenhouse. Most plants don't last over 8 to 11 weeks in flower before they mold with some indicas molding within the first few weeks of flower.
So here is what I have done. I have taken my grows from the past which I have pollinated either entire plants or specific branches to to obtain my new seeds. The goal is to produce over a period of generations a good healthy plant for these conditions. Presently I am on my 4th generation of plants crossing and back crossing into a gene pool of now about 12 different strains to obtain what I hope will turn out to be what I had in Florida in past years. There I had several different strain which I had developed if I can be so bold to use that term which grew like crazy in my special spot there. I cannot say that I started an new strain that would breed true, honestly never really tried to be that good. I will say that I have been able to obtain some good results for myself and always seem to have happy plants and always have plenty of smoke.
OK enough BS and on with what is going on with the grow now. The autoflowers which I started 4 seeds I now have 2 in the containers and 2 in the germ tray waiting to sprout. I do the autos a little differently than what most of the people do here as far as putting them into their big containers and leaving them until they are finished. I start my seeds at least this time in rockwool and then place into their first container when they first appear out of the rockwool. I place them into a 1 gallon container for the first 3 to 4 weeks and then place them into a 3 gallon container with fresh compost until finished. Reasoning behind this is simple, I am a believer in the fresh soil to allow the plant the best of everything in the soil. I do not use any ferts, only manure tea, wood ash and fresh compost along with molasses. I use the molasses in every watering from the time the sprouts emerge until the final watering before harvest. I do not need to flush the plants this way, I have always had healthy strong plants with massive root system. My buds may not always be as large as some of the pics I have seen on this site but with the problem of mold I try and stay a little smaller anyway.
I have found that by limiting my plants to grow no more than about 3 feet before flower and usually in the range of about 2 feet I am able to keep more air circulating in the plant and keep the mold down to a minimum.

i would advise you to give them some dark period as well, 20-4 schedule is da best..someone even in here made a little experiment with these schedules if i remember correctly?! but u have thing covered super well so keep it on the go mann...keep us updated and happy times to you mann...
. But the update on the autos is ready. I have had a bit of a problem with getting them going but now they seem to be OK. When the little babies came out of the rockwool and showed their roots out the bottom, I put them into their containers. I usually use old dirt from the previous year to get them started but this time put them into the new compost soil,
. they shot up and wilted back, laying lifeless on the ground. I guess my new compost is a little hot for them yet, but I flushed them and put a wire noose around them to stand two of the babies up and presto, after the flushing they are looking good as new.
friggin ants ate one. I don't know where they came from but one minute looking good and come back from getting gas and the one was eaten down to a nub. Wrong time of the moon to replant now so I guess I just have to hope for the best of the other 2.
. The poor girl had her entire root system eaten down to the tap root. So the week has been pure crap. I did manage to get a clone from the girl so maybe all is not lost. My wife usually takes great care of the plants in my absence but this time things seemed to have gotten away from her.
