Canna 13/14 and fabric pots

Hi guys,

I have got myself 1L of Canna 13/14 to get my plants more P & K. My plants are on the 6th week of flowering now.
My regular fertiliser is 9N 6P 27K and I am growing in fabric pots.

I have EC meters in every pot and I can see all nutrients are gone from pots normally within 2 days and soil moisture gets too low(less than 20%) in one day. So everyday I water each 5 gallon pot with about 600-700ml of plain water and every second day I water them with the same amount but with my regular fertiliser added.


Now with this Canna 13/14 what should I do?

Since Canna 13/14 is nothing but P and K and no other nutrients I am thinking about using 1/3 of my regular fertiliser recommended dose and may be 1/3 of a dose recommended by Canna of Bloom Booster.

And I am going to keep the same schedule with one day of plain water and next day of water with these two added.

Does it sound right or its too much?

UPDATE: actually scratch that regular fertiliser from my post above. Most of the time I have used another one which is 14 : 2.6 : 21. I guess I need to switch to 1/3 or may be even 1/4 of 9N 6P 27K and add some reduced dosage of PK 13/14

Its meant to be used as part of the rest of the canna line which has a npk of 5-4-3 so its much different from what you are using.
Its best to stick to one range because they are designed to used that way to keep a good balance of all nutrients.
But if your going to use it then just try a quarter dose. Don't forget your main nutrients also will have the micro nutrients your plant needs so if you cut the base down you cut the micros down so maybe just drop the ec of the base slightly and top up slightly with PK13/14. You can do a lot of damage with a PK boost if you go ott.

Thanks I am aware of micro nutes and that's why I am asking about PK13/14 as an addition.

I have read that PK13/14 should be used with a caution, it is just having EC meters tells me there are no nutrients left in my soil in fabric pots within 36-48 hours. That's why I feed them every second day with at least 1000-1500 microsiemens water. It brings EC readings to about 800-1000 microsiemens after watering but in two days it usually drops to below 200.

I will try to be careful with PK13/14 and see maybe I can get some fertiliser with a ratio around 5:4:3
It is just what I have are both very high on N and K vene though they are both say they are for flowering.

That actually was my main concern before I created this thread. I have seen many references when people say give PK 13/14 once a week on week x, y,z etc. And I would probably follow it if my grow was in water or in plastic pots.

However growing in soil with fabric pots that dry supper quick(you are right about 12 hours, mine went from 65% moisture to below 19% in less than 12 hours by today's morning) and EC values dropped really fast(this actually may be a problem with soil being to dry) I was not sure that feeding them with a full dose every two days with this Canna PK 13/14 would not do any harm to my plants.

BTW, for the first time yesterday and before I created this thread I feeded them with about 15ml on 10L. I cannot say now with the lights off if it did anything bad/good to them. However I have checked some buds and leaves with a torch and it seems they at least have not responded bad to the recommended by Canna dose.

Next time when I am going to feed them with Canna tomorrow evening I am going to give them no more than 5-7ml and mix it with highly reduced dose of my regular fertiliser.
