I'll try to keep this as politically neutral as possible. I'm sure many of you on this forum are educated with the practices of the federal reserve and fractional reserve banking in general. For those individuals you can skip ahead a little bit.
The underlying premise to sustain our current system relies on creating more money and convincing more people to get themselves into debt. If all debts were paid off, there would not be a single cent left in circulation. I'm no economist but a few minutes of research into The Federal Reserve and Fractional Reserve Banking will open many new doors.
The US economy is in the midst of its own collapse. This is not a 9/11 conspiracy, it is a matter of economics laws. The US continues to burn billions on its "War on the World", further draining our wallets and inspiring hatred for americans all over. We've lost most of our means of production and instead rely on consumer spending to support the economy.
After our country goes through our economic withdrawl symptoms, people will have to re-learn a barter system. People will always revert back to whatever simpler system they understand. We all learned barter in kindergarten when we traded a cookie for chocolate pudding. How will the cannabis industry survive in the midst of a economic crash? The distribution system is entirely seperate from all other legal products, therefore it is very resilient against disruption. People with cannabis will almost always be able to trade for other commodities such as corn, wheat, alcohol. Studies have found that alcohol and other intoxicants to have high value in times of great stress and grief. Although alcohol might be hard to come by, people involved with cannabis now will be able to take the market by storm with a top notch product. By the simple nature of cannabis transactions, people must become involved in the black market to a small degree. As hard as the government may try to regulate it, the black market is far more stable than most any other market in the news today. Even after a large nuclear attack, the black market would live on.
With the economic collapse, many people would take to looting and stealing what they need to live. This phenomenon will strain the LEO's resources, manpower, and willpower to pursue cannabis offenses. The pot farmer living in a cabin far away from the prying eyes of the government will probably fair the best. The resources necessary to grow pot are the exact same ones needed to grow food, the most important resource. To sum it all up, people like to smoke good weed. The talented pot growers out there now are the best prepared to handle economic disruptions. While everyone else is struggling, the growers will stay well fed and high all day.
