Sorry all u ppl that think u keep the weed in the butter really don't know what ur doin, and u don't have to use lbs of butter every time either, u can do around an oz per lb or 1/4 per stick of butter if ur using decent small bud and shake, if ur a grower and ur using the trimming I'd say around an oz per stick if u grind it up fine, do like 3 cups of water, butter, and a shot of 100 proof vodka, throw it all in the pot bring to low boil/simmer for about 30min, then take boiled mixture and strain thru either a cheese cloth or I've even use an old wife beater of mine clean of course cut it so ur just using one piece of the shirt ya know dont double it. put it over another pot or bowl and pour now cooled(just cool enough so it doesn't burn u) mixture into other container thru shirt/cloth, use cloth to make plant matter into a ball and squeeze as much of the liquid as u can from it. Once complete take liquid and place in fridge over night or at least till butter rises to surface and hardens take knife cut around the edges once hard and carefully remove(got liquid below). Now u have ur cannabutter.
Sorry 3 cups might not be enough, Also other might think wth is with the vodka, but the whole point of the 100 proof alcohol is that it helps to break down the THC in the herb and to bond it to the fat in the butter. This is a Tried and True method all have theirs, But I do disagree with the need that u have to eat the weed just to get stoned.
