Canniblize into clones after harvest?

2 females at 20" each, harvesting in 3 weeks. I'm going around again and would rather forgo the whole germination, weeding out of males, 5 weeks of vegging process.

Is it possible to remove the buds, prune the hell out of the plants and either hack them into clones or just reset them as whole?

I'd rather clone them into several smaller plants. I have a new grow box and had planned to flower whatever I grow sooner this time to allow for more plants.

I have done this:
take one clones of a plant ( a branch)
clone it in a bubbler cloner and set it under 18 hour of light
2 weeks later harvest the 2 plants you have in flower now and have a mother plant to take as many clones of her as you want!
