Can't hydro and soil plants get along? It's 2021 for fuck's sake :)

So today I took 4 clones off of my tomato plant and placed them in my clone tote for a neighbor of mine. I made a clone bucket out of spare parts for another neighbor because I'm fucking sick and can't go anywhere. Planted some spearmint seeds, holly hock seeds, and lemon balm. I love the smell of both spearmint and lemon, and both varieties are perennials that will come back every year. I love it! The holly hock spits out some beautiful large flowers after June through July, but that won't happen until next year. No flowers in the first year.

Spearmint in a 50/50 of potter's gold and ocean forest with pin holes punched in the plastic tied off with wax string. Ran outta humidity domes :)

Added 3 critical mass cuts, 4 tomato's, and several soil babies just chilling on top of the clone tote. See that? Botanical harmony :)

A single jack herer and big buddha cheese. I'm fighting hard to keep these ladies going. I really would love to see how each grow and taste. I also have the lemon balm and holly hock in there for germination:

Soil plants strutting their stuff. Godfather OG, cabbage, wild flowers, corn (obviously, right?), and tomatoes:

Might have fucking covid or some shit so I can't go anywhere and I feel like walking death, so I made a clone bucket for my neighbor. Didn't wanna feel like a complete waste of life today :)

5 gallon black bucket. Homer gasket lid. 2" hole saw. 2" net pots. Neoprene inserts. Fountain pump. Nozzles. Plastic welding material. Making my neighbor supply his own air stones and air pump. Jonny can only do so much :)

My garden is a mixed bag...I stared with 4 hydro dwc and one dirt...I ended up growing the hydro by having the initial water level too high (stupid I know) now I have 4 dirt and 1 hydro...I didn't kill the plants and now my garden is coming along nicely!!! Check out my first grow it's in my signature!
Anyways here's what my garden looks like...one thing I noticed is now that the hydro is surrounded by those dirt pots it holds its temperature way better....I cool my tent to about 62 degrees for 2 or three hours in the morning to bring the water temperature down..then I set the ac at 85 degrees and let it go all day and the next day it's never gotten then 69 degrees....20210315_064044.jpg

Here's my GSC hydro after starting all over with zero roots...I gave her one week in soil after I repotted her from the root root last month and had maybe a 1/3rd of an inch roots from the rockwool when I stuck her in a much much smaller bucket.. I was using 5 gallon home depot buckets now i'm using a small 1 gallon mop bucket with the water maybe 40% full a 6 inch small bubble round airstone like 40 buckets made for hydro and a huge 35w Air pump since i only have one plant now...the water rolls!!
Here are the roots after being planted march 4th and I didn't start seeing them until march 10th so this like 4 days of root growth...check out my grow journal too see how they came out of no where!!!20210315_063539.jpg

Long story short weed and hydro can get along...You might have to keep the tent slightly cooler then normal if you don't have a chiller but whatever, I'm a first-time grower so I could still run into problems!
