Can't post picture - The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension

I tried to upload a picture to one of my threads but I got an error
saying, The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, Or how to fix it.
Any ideas?

It was a .bmp file. I got another file to work in its place.
It was a small piece of a bigger screen shot that I cropped down that wouldn't work.
I ended up using the original screen shot and uploaded the whole thing instead.

Hey there, I know this is an old thread, but I am trying to post my first picture and it is just a box that says enter url

I am not too sure how I would get a url for a picture on my chromebook?

Any help out there please?
