Can’t tell how much time is left

I lost track of how long I’ve been in flower, and the buds are looking frosty but I can’t tell how much longer I should go before harvesting.
Please help

The tricomes pic is pretty blurry but from what I can see only one word comes to mind. TIMBER.....

I see a bunch of new pistils. I wouldn't cut that yet. You've got some time left.

I see alot of clear trichs, It would be a short headstone right now. No idea how fast your strain matures but it wouldn't be herb that works for me right now.

Looks like probably 2ish weeks but You should check the trichomes again at that point and determine if it is actually ready yet.

I am seeing some new pistols on smaller buds but none on main cola. Could you give some clearer pics of tricomes for different buds? Might be worth harvesting in stages? What do you all think?

Pistils aren't the unit of measurement to tell if the plant is done. It's all about the trichomes.

Mostly clear = head high
Mostly cloudy = just right
Mostly amber = body high

At the minimum you want 60-80% cloudy

This can be a cloudy/clear mix or a cloudy/amber mix depending on what kind of stone you're looking for. Then there's the cure after the chop and drying.

The cure brings out the best in your strain.

I would say the pistils are what you use as the sign to start checking trichomes. When they stop reaching out is when I would say you start checking trichomes on buds, not on leaves. Some more experienced growers don't even check them at all as they feel they can tell just by the look of the plant however I am not there, I still use the trichomes to determine when to chop. Plants can ripen more on one cola than the next, this is why some harvest in stages. To me his main cola looks ready and the smaller ones may have some more time. Waiting for clearer pics.

Stigma(pistils) turning red and shrinking are absolutely the first sign of maturity a plant shows. I would not harvest based solely on stigma color, because the plants aren’t done growing yet at that point. It’s just the sign that they are done trying to reproduce and are ready to swell up. Typically plants need a solid 2-3 weeks after the stigma have shrunk to maximize yield and quality. That’s when the trichomes come into play as the final sign of maturity and when to harvest.

Harvesting early gets you less high for less amount of time.

Harvesting when the plant is actually ripe gets you more high for longer, it’s that simple.

I’ve been telling people this for years when they mention the uplifting Vs couchlock effect.

I keep trying to tell people you can’t make an uplifting strain become couchlock because you leave it longer. And vice Versa.

I’ve found over time that it’s the potency and length of effect that are effected from chopping early or late Etc.

To a degree, yes. Thats very true. 100% true within the same strain and type of plant. Im an old man and you younger guys have really brought this hobby a long way. When I started in 1986, a 1/4 oz was 25 dollars and 30 for skunk. Lol. Now you can grow cannabis that does just about any effect you can imagine. im amazed daily by you all

To me the Main looks ready but the others look like they are still growing. Might want to harvest in stages. At this point you want to get a close look at the trichomes on each bud. A $20 usb microscope is your friend. If you want to look into one than here is a link to the one I use. It gives a much better pic.

I would keep an eye on them and wait for 10 - 20 % amber on buds. Ignore amber on leaves. You are getting close.
