CAP Ebb n Gro - Pro Grow 260, Blackstar 240, 400 CMH - Kosher Kush, OG Kush, more!

Hello all, I've decided to start a journal and document my grow, and maybe get some advice, etc.

This grow is running in a 4x4x7 tent, I am running General Hydroponics Flora series, as well as Florablend, Floralicious, and I think Flora Nectar. The girls will be fed via CAP ebb and grow system, 9 sites, running 35 gallons in the reservoir.

I completed a grow a few months back with the BS240, and a few other supplemental lights, I was pleased, but wanted to go bigger. So I did some research, Picked up a 400w CMH, and landed at hydroponics hut(great customer service, btw) and picked up a PG260. Set up the lights today.

The seeds are all from the attitude 'Lucky 7' promo earlier this month. For this grow l, I popped the following:
(all feminized)

6x Reserva Privada Kosher Kush
1x Dinafem OG Kush
1x Emerald Triangle Bubba '76
1x DNA Genetics Sleestack OG

Not much going on at the moment, they are 1 week from seed today. Running PH at 5.8-6.0, tent is around 72-75 degrees farenheit. Any questions, comments, critiques? Feel free to post or message me, thanks for looking!

I would wait at least 2 weeks before even using the 400W, it's so far too, you got 2 very good LEDs (you went and bought LEDs so I assume power is a bit of a concern?) ,to me it looks like a big waste of power!! Nice setup btw

Thanks for the responses! I agree with the CMH, it won't be fired up again for another week or two. I was just anxious to see the garden at full brightness, and yes, it will be lowered. Nothing new to report, I had to build a stint to keep my center Kosher Kush upright, I've heard this is a leggy strain, so far, I believe it.

My bubba '76 is/was taking extra long to get started, so I popped a MK Ultra(T H Seeds) to replace the bubba. Now the bubba is starting to catch up. Should I just throw the Mk Ultra into a party cup and see what happens? Or, pull the bubba? Or, replace one of the lesser performing Kosher Kush? Decisions, decisions...


Also, I picked up a bag of Exhale "homegrown cO2" from amazon(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00546SAZC?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1), anyone used this stuff? Feedback?

How long have you run all the lights together? Just make sure you have some good ventilation, which kind of hurts the co2 your adding. If possible you might want to pull the plants out and run a little stress test on the tent to make sure the temps are controllable/reasonable. I would run the lights for at least four hours to see how much the thing will heat up. Don't be fooled, LEDs raise the room temps and cmh certainly does, but they are both very easy to manage.


Is going to be a sexy and packed room. A thread to watch for sure.

Just a quick observation from the pics, if possible try to get all of your electrical equipment off of the floor, you never know when a pump will fail or a line comes loose. I am looking forward to watching this grow. Good luck.

Hey man, the set-up looks exactly how I wanted to set mine up, tent, ebb and grow set up and all.

I currently have a pro-grow 180 light from a while back but was thinking about buying two more leds for this set up. which do you guys recommend?

I was thinking about grabbing 2 blackstars, be it 2 500w's or 2 240w's.

Sorry for the lack of updates, the first few weeks are just so boring, picture wise(ill put updated pics tomorrow) I appreciate the advice, and the comments. I've tidied up my wiring a bit, I had meant to do this earlier, but it skipped my mind, thanks for the reminder.

I zipped the tent up and ran full lights for an hour, temps went up to 90.1, which was around 20 degrees higher than room temp. Picked up a 6 inch hydro farm 400 cfm inline. I'll be adding that this week, as well as an air cooled hood for the CMH. I'm hoping this helps things a bit, temp wise.

The lights: so far, I've had the progrow260 and blackstar240 about 14" away, seems to keep them happy. I keep the lights on 24/7, but this may change once the CMH is in the rotation. I keep the pro grow in the all blue mode, which I'm guessing is Veg mode, should I be using full spectrum mode?

The plants: most of the plants are looking great, tight nodes, big dark leaves. A few I'm going to have to pull out, I'm thinking. The bubba 76 still hasnt recovered, so I popped an Mk ultra about a week ago, and she is underperforming as well. 1 of the Kosher Kush is looking bad, I didn't place the Rockwool deep enough, so she was underwatered, I buried her a little deeper, so we shall see.

I love my blackstar, the price is right, it has produced for me, I would definitely buy another 240 or 2. I like the flexibility of a selection of smaller panels, to compensate for height variance, penetration, etc. Personally, I'd lean towards another pro grow or two My plants turn to it like sunflowers to the sun, I have to see how it performs through a full grow to give my final say on them though. I have grown with blackstar successfully, and would recommend.
