Carbon Filter

You won't, it doesn't really promote filtering the air instead it would be more less a muffler.

Maybe an air cooler from honeywell would do the job for ya , i bought 2 of these not long ago. It's basicly a box that sucks in air from the back and blows it out in the front , inside is a carbon filter it says. You can also put water in it and it will blow the air thru the water thereby cooling and humidifying the air.. didnt use it for any grow yet though so im not sure it will actually filter the smell , but it should since it has a carbon filter inside.. right?

It seems i have fallen to the BS of your typical hydro store!

Basically i was sold a 4 way spigot which is interconnected to my 4 fans via 100mm ducting. The spigot has another 8" space for my fan, which was going to be extracted outdoors. But even though i discussed problems arising from smell, it wasn't until i opened the boxes and realised from the design that they will be pumping out some blatant aroma, whcih the hydro store neglected to explain. Okay, so i should i have known but being a bit of a stoner and being a complete novice i had no idea! So, when i realised my downfall i called them up and they told me 'yeh, there's something called an in line carbon filter with an in/out plus it works as a muffler and it's the dogs bol...'.
I thought i could smell some BS drifting via the telephone cable and out of the speaker hence my question on here.

How could i filter the smell from the air being pumped out from the hoods?

I would say get a basic filter and hook that to the end of you light. Or there is a new filter out. Hold on I'll find it.

Warlock - Yes mate, that must be what he was chatting about. Has anyone used them? I've been scanning all the forums on how others have filtered the air from their air cooled hoods but i couldn't find diddly.

Basically i'm growing my tomatos with the same layout as the picture below. So i have a 5 way spigot; 4 going to my lights and the fifth to an 8" fan. I'm worried about the smell that will be sucked from the hoods and vented outside... Its not like i can stick a carbon filter on the outside of my house...

This is a weed forum. So if you say tomatoes I'm gonna think tomatoes. And you don't need a filter for them. They smell rather nice indoors.

The unlined are pretty new so slot of people don't know about them or haven't used them. I have no need but would of gotten one in the beginning.

Yes they do look good. How did you cool / filter your room or what is the best way to control climate controls when using HID lights? By the way temperature varies here between 23F to 100F and a/c is not an option..

As the previous poster said A/C may have to be an option and as far as a filter goes you have 4 options, buy that very expensive looking filter from sun light supply co make sure its rated for the air flow you will be pulling, Diy your self and inline filter probably not a good idea considering how much air you will be moving, buy some hoods that have an intake on them so you can attach a carbon filter at the intakes, or put an inline ozone generator in.

I just noticed you have 2 separate ventilation systems one for the smell with a carbon filter and one for the lights? If that's the case and you get hoods that have an intake and an exhaust you can daisy chain your hoods and then run the intake from the last hood in the chain to out side the room so that you are only exhausting clean air. If you cant keep the temps below 90 you should install a 2nd filtered ventilation system and you don't need a fan for fresh air intake.

What time? 420 was handing joints to a few people in the smokers corner. Scripts where checked at gate. But guess cops came in the back. Then last month was a DUI but I wasn't driving. So go figure. I'm fighting them both. Might get 60 days. And 3 more years of probation. After 20 years on probation don't think I would know what it's like not to be on it. LoL that's life Shen you fight for legalization and fuck up from time to time.

im sealed so no I don't vent. 1 duct is set for sealed hoods use only outside air and hot air is dumped back outside. The filter is set to a fan and temp switch in veg room. It pulls the cool air from flower to veg when needed. Filter is there to help with smell in veg sence that's where I walk in. And I had the filter so why not use it. But I won't be buying another one for this room.
