Cfl & hps lighting

Morning

ok I have a newbie question , I really struggle in the summer with temps but no way could I fit an ac unit in my grow space or can i get enough cool air in passively or via my 5" intake so I have purchased. 2 x cfl lamps and reflectors to veg with , my question is this , could/should I at some point during my 18/6 schedule turn on my 600 watt hps lamp for say 6 hours or would it create to much stress ?

What watt would your CFLs b? If your using 2x 125w+ then you'll b fine just using them for veg.

Thanks for the reply , I have 2x 125 watt 6400k bulbs , I only grow 4-5 plants at a time

how hot are your temps getting to with the 600w? im in the uk myself and the past few days its been hot and my temps have been getting upto 88 but thats not a problem if you have a good air flow most people will say no over 80 is to hot and its just not i have been having my room at 85-88 for over 3 weeks now and its not affecting the plants they seem to like it and are growing so fast and bushy


also how big is your grow space?
soil or hydro?

Yeah, if you have adequate air flow mid 80s will be okay. I've read recent studies that plant growth isn't stunted until you reach over 90 however potency can decrease at those temps

well i looked in to nettles and tomatoes to see what is the max temp they can take as they are the closest needs to a canabis plant and obv they dont react the same but i have had one of my weed plants and tomatoes plants in a lil vedge space at over 120 and with good air flow they where fine just needed lots of water i didnt flower it so dont know about how potent it was but it was ok

Ok my room is in the loft so obvious heat issues to start with

Room is 6ft wide x5 ft and 5 ft high

Getting 100 plus in heat

Soil grow

I have inline 4" intake and 5" rvk on filter for extraction with fan controller , looking at pushing intake to rvk 5" also

Vent is in bottom corner of room where extraction is at the top on opposite side

1 x oscillating fan in corner near intake

My room is made from king span .

One of my grows hermied so I put it down to excessive heat , this last one which finished 2 weeks ago has been loads better but averaging 26 deg until the little hot spell whic pushed it too 40 deg plus but it was finishing fortunatley
