CFL light position

Will it make a difference if the lights are hanging right above the plants or should they be horizontal so you get the light off of the sides of the bulbs? Thx for your help

If you get a V light connector you can put two lights. That way you have one going vertical along the side and one going horizontal. Very good for verging.

The general consensus is that more light is emitted along the longest edge of the bulb. Makes sense, though I haven't seen it tested scientifically.

ive actually read on another thread that the light coming off the top of the bulb is actually stronger, but I know nothing so dont listen to me.

I have a grow going on right now where i am using the horizontal part of my lights and they definately are working very well. Though I have not personally used the vertical way I have a buddy who used his cfls vertically and had a very good result as well.. So I'm sure either way will work, but i agree with the longer the light source the more light. Also I know its a little off topic but White colored walls will reflect light better throughout your grow room.. CHeck out my current grow with horizontal lights and lemme know what you think..
