CFL lighting questions?

I have started one bagseed, yes like Reggie weed seeds lol in a half gallon pot and I have 2 10" clamp lights to put on them and need a honest answer as to how many watts I will need for 4 square feet and what lumens (5000k) to finish out this plant. I'm not wanting to top I'm simply wanting to veg for three or four weeks and flip to flower 12/12?

You'll need 200w of CFL to flower. Could go with less but CFL doesn't do much.. You're fine to veg with much less, especially at a seedling. 2700k to 3500k to flower.

If you're not gonna top it you should tie her down. Hopefully a her, only 1 bagseed is a bad idea, could be a male or more likely a hermie.. Would suck to get halfway and have to toss your only plant.

Do you suggest 200w as in there rating or actual pull?? And right now I have two 100w equivalent and they're 5000k and regular miracle grow soil

And I planted 8 outside and yes I only had like three females and now down to two because of deer

What you have is fine for vegging a few weeks, keep the lights close within a few inches. I do mean actual, you'll want much more. 5000k is great to veg with.

Rough, yeah I'd be afraid to go outdoors, too many things left up to nature including deer.

So not everyone's recommended 18" hang height, like is 6" away ok? And yes there beginning to flower now and it's like everything in the woods can smell it I'm starting my journey indoors cause of that and I'm new to I'm starting small everyone said practice run first and CFL seems the cheapest and easiest at the moment

Cfl throws light mostly from the sides so a reflector is a good start. I was on the cfl / flouro wagon for a early time. I ran 5000k over 6400/6500k bulbs as I liked the shorter node spaces from the bluer spec. However as the grow progressed I added those other 6400k for a mix.

I used Ecosmart and Feint electric for basic bulb setup . It actually grew pretty decent plants for what they are ... later I built a hooded 14 bulb ( adapters ) and got some pretty great plants from it.
I was pushing at a minimum ( 5 cfl per plant and increasing as plant grew ) . Surrounding plant instead of just canopy.

From my early days ... lol

Note : DON’T let other growers hate on cfl / flouro grows ... with proper placement and use , they do pretty well for small personal size grows. I used soil , Hempy buckets with them and found the “ milder “ light actually gave plants better responses. For me this light system choice allowed me to dial in my ACTUAL grows ( Hempy / soil / feeding ) more than worrying over the lights I was using then. Think like a small lab grow. I suggest using the “ 100 watt “ equivalent wording on your bulb choices. You can also rig up multi bulb adapters ( 3-5 bulbs on one socket ) for experimenting and supplement.

I will never throw shade on these kind of grows .... I actually like the quick setup and plant response.
Even after I moved to QB and cobs .... I still have a fondness for them and would still have a corner grow going for a mother or cutting plant if I had the extra space.

Thanks budzbuhhda man and yes I will get pics tomorrow and I have been planting bag seed since I started smoking but always outside and in the woods.. I've honestly had various success and lots of failures.. Georgia red clay and deer and white aphids are honestly my biggest enemies.. alot of the ones that do make it are males (like 6/10) and the females usually take forever to finish I think cause I'm using seeds from brick weed and I think they use sativa's in Mexico and south America idk.. anyway that's why I am taking the leap and going to try growing indoors through this fall and winter.. figured I would start small and see how it goes.. if I do alright I can always invest more into equipment (led lights, genetics, tent,etc) anyway thanks again for the support and not telling me not to waste my time.
