CFL lights

They are compact fluorescent bulbs. Ok for veg, you’ll need a ton for flower and will still not get great results. Get household leds and take the domes off.

Ok thanks for the info. Can you elaborate on “household” leds? Do you just common ceiling lights that are led? What’s the best setup for veg and flower? I noticed you had a nice little setup in one of your threads and I’m curious what you used?

I have 4 2700k 15w leds, 4 5000k 15w leds, 1 full spectrum 300w led UFO ( draws 140w) and 2 3000k 50w floodlights that’s the main light and I have a side light that has 2 2700k 15w leds, 1 2700k 9w led and 1 full spectrum 22w led.

I agree with Way2High you get much better light focus with leds since the light is directed in one direction compared to being emitted 360 degrees around the bulb.

The problem with both these leds and cfls is light intensity hold your hand close to a bulb the light is pretty strong, then see how quickly the intensity fades as you move your hand a few inches away. So even if you have a reflector directing half of a cfls light back toward a plant it loses any intensity it had very quickly.

I have 10 2700k 100watt equivalent leds with the domes off, and 6 100watt equivalent cfls all surrounding a single plant for flowering.
