cfl's? how many to keep plant healthy?

im starting a stealth grow and i want to no how many 23 watt cfls will it take to keep plant healthy?

I don't know much, but, how big is the plant?

As many as possible

seems to me that a good rule is about 100 ACTUAL watts per plant, provided you're growing in a decent sized space, and not trying to do a micro grow.

Spot on.

You get 1 gram of dry bud per 1 watt used. So the more watts you use the more bud your get.

So if you have 125watts should net you them same in bud when you have all the elements in place. I get pretty good results under 125watts.

Zero do not use them. Use T5s instead.

...you will NEVER hit 1 gram per watt with CFLs, it just can't be done as fluorescent light just isn't intense enough, ...to tell you the truth it's hard hitting a gram per watt with HPS.

How many can you fit in your space... FYI: To grow bigger plants, you must Veg as long as you can... And... you must have as much light as you can... so, it's really up to you


"How Big", and or how healthy... And, I grow fine with CFL's.... Keep your CFL's around 2" away from plants... I get sometimes, 1-2" growth per day... IDK [above] about your 1 gram per watt issues.... Is that per grow? If I veg a little girl, for 4-6 weeks, she'll grow to 24-28" inches... with massive stretch in Bud and 2“ or more between nodes… Now vegging longer, keeping lights close for great nodes spacing, more nodes, more buds… ... If I Veg same plant three weeks more, up size her pot, LST her, trim her shoots, trim, fim, she'll double the yield...with the same plant... It's all about the veg for yield and CFL's... I run a perpetual grow, SoG ... and weekly, depends on how many plants go through system... between, 18 g and 69 g per week... PER WEEK, every week... so, with 1200 watts of CFL, you can grow some healthy plants... Don’t let anyone tell you CFL's are shit... I have "growing stations" inside Veg room to accommodate different size of plants… from 6” to 28” plants I can keep lights close…so can you with a bit of planning… If you do it right, CFL’s are fine… of course, there are better lighting systems…

Ha... yes, and 1200 more watts in Bud [HID/HPS mix...] for a nice finish…

thanks for the advice, its a decent size stealth cab , just low on budget, so i guess less is more here.

would it work better with autos or not? and its a seedling? i

1 plant? if you veg it for less than 1 month you should be able to get away with about three or four 23 watt CFLs. if you want to veg it longer you will need to use more lights.
