Change Lighting in flowering stage?

Hello,
This is my first attempt at growing. A friend of mine said that I should change the lighting time from 12 to 12 to something else at some point? Is this true I always thought you just flowered with 12 and 12. what would be the benifits of switching them as they seem to be doing well with what is going on. Thanks : )

nah, just stay with 12/12

12/12 will start the flowering process do not switch if you want to veg longer

my mistake i misread yes leave it at 12/12 untill harvested
