Changing dwc resevoir

I'm growing a plant in a 5 gallon bucket. It's in the second week of flower and I have to change the resevoir or top it off daily. This means I have to move the plant a lot, which has resulted in 3 pretty significant branches from breaking off and dying. Ive tied a lot of the branches up now, but that still makes it difficult to moves the plants to change the resevoir. This is also the reason I did not do a scrog, I couldn't figure out how I'd move the damn thing.

I haven't seen anyone talk about this issue before. What do people do to get around it, whether it's something I can do for this grow or the next.

I have an old thread in dwc called, ez dwc 2" netpots, and it has to be the easiest way to do dwc. Using only a 2" netpot and collar, no media, it allows for a full 5gal to go into bucket and makes moving very easy.

Thanks for the input, I'll definitely check it out. Do you or anyone else have advice on what I can do for the remaining weeks so more branches don't fall?!

Best solution I've seen for SCROG is to elevate buckets on something at least the size of the bucket itself. When you change your res, you just push whatever bucket is standing to the side and lower the bucket to the floor, leaving the plant hanging in the air. If it has few developed branches it should be fine like that, and you are free to do whatever you want with your res. Could you try doing something similar? Put your bucket on something and tie several stronger branches to the ceiling so taht it can hang while you mess with the res?

I don't bother moving mine after the first month of flower. Got this nifty hand pump with hoses from walmart and siphon the res into another bucket when I do res changes. Seems to suck up and transfer most of the organic bits pretty well. I only do res changes every 2 weeks with gallon top offs daily.

Seen a few scrog guys that leave a submersible pump in their res. When it's time to change they just plug it in and it emptys into another container. Pretty simple.

Buy some of these. its makes it easy to drain without moving your bucket and messing with your root system. Easy to install. All you need is a paddle bit ( i forget the size). You drill one hole in the bottom of the bucket and install rubber grommet and elbow. Bam your done. When you want to drain, you tilt the hose and drain into another container. i use a bowl. Then you fill from the top. i love mine.

Like the other guy said suspend your lids somehow remove bucket and replace ready to go bucket and just keep rotating until done , and to top off I would just cut a hole in the lid and use a drain plug to cover it up.this would make measuring and taking grab samples of your water, more easy , seen it done like this a few time ,
